Overview of Workshop:
Due to anxiety, many people do not demonstrate their full level of skill in the perceived high-stakes testing situations of SAT's and other entry exams or licensing exams. We will discuss how to use hypnotic techniques to rehearse and desensitize clients to the test-taking environment and tasks. In addition, the use of hypnotic skills for memory enhancement and effective learning will be presented.

Objectives of Workshop:
Participants will learn how to teach test-takers to use self-hypnosis to: 1. Manage anxiety 2. Rehearse appropriate test-taking skills 3. Aid in learning and in retrieving the knowledge they have learned to pass the test.

About the Presenter:
Jessica G. Schairer, Ph.D. (PSY 6590) is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Westwood CA. She is currently the President of the Southern California Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Chair of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association’s Health Psychology Committee. Practice specialties include but are not limited to: creative blocks and other career difficulties, health issues such as IBS and GI disorders, auto-immune diseases, chronic pain, infertility and childbirth, and anxiety, phobias, and depression.
